As a church family, we believe every child is deeply loved by Jesus, and we are called to care for the children in our community who would benefit from an extra caring, trustworthy adult in their lives. That’s why we partner with Kids Hope USA.

Research consistently shows that a key factor in a child’s long-term success is having stable, committed, and healthy relationships with adults. For students in the Kids Hope USA program, one of those life-giving relationships comes through a mentor from our church.

Through this proven church–school partnership, our mentors come alongside parents, teachers, principals, and counselors to show children that they are seen, valued, and loved. With the power of consistent relationship, kids gain resilience and hope for a brighter future.

Join us along with Pastor David, his wife Ruby and his team at Smyrna Church for their Vacation Bible School (VBS) August 11-14 2026.  400-500 kids are bussed in from various areas in Sri Lanka.  At this VBS the kids encounter the love of God and hear the gospel and their lives are forever touched by the love and salvation of Jesus.  Many of these kids come from a Buddhist or Hindu background.  We invite you to see with your eyes what God is doing in Sri Lanka in the hearts of children, the power of the gospel and how the Lord will use you as his vessel in bringing the gospel to 400+ kids.  This trip will surely impact the lives of all who are involved.

At City Church, we believe water baptism is a celebration of your decision to follow Jesus.

Baptism is an important step of obedience that shows others we have personally trusted Jesus for our salvation. Jesus was baptized when He was on the earth, and we do this to follow His example. When Christians are baptized, they are submerged under water to identify with the death and burial of Jesus and raised out of the water to identify with His resurrection. We believe that water baptism is a public declaration of three important things: you are a follower of Jesus Christ, you are beginning a changed life in Christ, and you are part of a new family.
